The ALTER program provided students in grades 9-12 a safe space after school hours to learn about writing, performing, and media arts twice a week during the school year. ALTER program had guests that include Novena Carmel (daughter to Sly Stone), young producer Gwen Bunn (Schoolboy Q), singer Preston Harris (Kendrick Lamar), songwriter Jacob Luttrell (Ziggy Marley), and Grammy-nominated producer Haze Banga (Beyonce). We aimed to show the students the range of creative work available to them and alter the trajectory of their futures.
