Our Founder
Ronda Brown, the Founder of our organization, boasts a prosperous 25-year tenure as an art educator, with a notable five-year stint as an artist in residence in New York City, where she earned both her BA and MFA degrees. Throughout her extensive career, Ronda has demonstrated a deep commitment to managing art programs tailored for underprivileged and academically challenged Youth. Her adept communication skills have allowed her to forge meaningful connections with these young individuals through the transformative power of the arts. Notably, Ronda has played a pivotal role in supporting the initiatives of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in the education and empowerment of Youth.
As a seasoned Ancient Future artist, Ronda Brown's creative journey has taken her to prominent exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and London. Her multidisciplinary approach spans sculptures, paintings, reliefs, and collages, bridging the urban future and ancient traditions.
Celebrated for her work's sensual revelations of the sacred feminine and interconnected ancestral symbolism, Ronda Brown is deeply committed to sustainability in her artistic practice, home life, and family. Her approach reflects reverence for form, process, and evolution. Grounded in ritualistic practices cultivated through her spiritual journey, Ronda Brown's art showcases a profound connection to culture, tradition, and mysticism, honoring her Star Nation and Indigenous ancestry.
Ronda's artistic prowess is further recognized through various visual arts scholarships and awards, including the Jabonsky Award for 3-dimensional work, the Marry T. Poppers Award for 3-dimensional work, and the Connor Award and scholarship during her undergraduate and graduate studies. Ronda's works can also be found in the California African American Museum's Permanent Collection.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Ronda Brown draws inspiration from her musical and spiritual background to create images designed to inspire today's Youth. As a tenured Art Educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District and a veteran artist, she utilizes the genesis of art to impart invaluable lessons in cultural progress while fostering a sense of limitless possibilities.
